Subject: ATTEMPTS AT SILENCING CHILD ABUSE VICTIMS

Good morning Robert,

I decided to write to the child sex abuse inquiry (IICSA), to bring the case of Melanie Shaw to their attention. An email copy of the letter sent to the Chair of the Inquiry is below.

Whilst investigating the members sitting on the Inquiry Panel, I made an interesting discovery. One of the Panel Members,  Professor Sir Malcolm Evans, based at Bristol University, specialises in academic research into prisons where his work focuses on issues concerning torture and torture prevention. He can be contacted on email :-

M.D.Evans@bristol.ac.uk

Naturally, I have written an email to him concerning Melanie’s treatment :-

“Good morning Professor Evans,

I notice that you are a member of the panel of the IICSA and very interestingly,  you have an academic interest in prisons and the issue of torture.

That subject has perfect relevance to the topic of my emails and letters which have been ignored by the Home Office, Amber Rudd, Peter Clarke, Samuel Gyimah and Mahala McGuffie (Governor at HMP Styual), regarding the unlawful treatment meted out to child abuse survivor and whistle blower Melanie Shaw.

Melanie has not been convicted of any crime. Her incarceration is as a political prisoner. This was instigated by Theresa May when she was Home Secretary and has been perpetuated by her successor, Amber Rudd. It is an attempt to silence Melanie Shaw from naming the names of abusers some of whom are establishment figures.

The British people would be outraged by the catalogue of mistreatment meted out to Melanie Shaw,  that would normally be associated with some third world despotic regime.  Yet this is what is currently being done by our Conservative Government here in the UK.

I look forward to your insightful comments based on your own knowledge of the duty of care of vulnerable prisoners.

Regards

Christopher : Ricketts”

COPY OF POSTED LETTER

Saturday  30th. December  2017

Professor Alexis Jay

Chair of the Inquiry

Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse

PO Box 72289

LONDON

SW1P 9LF

Good morning Professor Jay,

MELANIE SHAW :-

CHILD ABUSE VICTIM, WHISTLEBLOWER AND POLITICAL PRISONER

As you should be aware, there are political forces working directly against any attempt you make to uncover the full extent of child abuse by establishment figures in this Country.

The first problem you face, should you wish to pursue the full depth of truth, is that you are a political appointee. It is in the public domain that a significant shameful underbelly of the issue of premeditated child abuse lies at the feet of key political establishment figures. Have you the remit, will and moral courage to go where the evidence leads ?

A prima facie case in evidence is that of child abuse victim, Melanie Shaw.

Melanie Shaw has not been convicted of any crime. She has been, and continues to be, incarcerated in this Country as a political prisoner (currently at HMP Styal), at the behest of the serving Conservative Government.

Melanie Shaw’s original incarceration was orchestrated by the then Home Secretary, Theresa May. It was the result of connivance between the Home Office, the Police and the Judicial System.  Melanie’s imprisonment has continued under the current Home Secretary, Amber Rudd.

The secret “Court” which sentenced Melanie was bogus, since it flouted the principles of the King John Charter of 1215 (commonly known as Magna Carta), that is still in force today. That Charter pre-dates and trumps all Parliamentary Legislation.

Melanie Shaw has reported some of the vile, disgusting and reprehensible treatment to which she has been subjected, whilst in the “care” of the Prison Service. This unlawful punishment that includes long periods in isolation, withdrawal of her medication and refusal of sanitary products, all in breach of International Law, Melanie Shaw’s Human Rights and the Prison Service Orders.

All prisoners should receive the same level of custodial care. Melanie Shaw should be no different. I am aware that as both a victim and whistle blower about child abuse, she has information which is dangerous to certain people within the establishment. That fact should not remove her from under the umbrella of Prison Service Orders, International Law and her basic Human Rights.

I am asking you to write to me, to confirm that your inquiry is cognisant of the Government’s actions regarding child abuse victims who decide to blow the whistle on key figures in the establishment. Further, please confirm that Melanie Shaw’s evidence will be heard and that you will note the unlawful actions taken by this Government in their attempt to stymie the evidence of the child abuse experienced by Melanie Shaw.

Only if you confirm these points will I have the confidence that your inquiry is serious about the discovery in this Country of the scale and the identity of the actual perpetrators of child abuse, both historic and current, that remain  a filthy stain on our society.

Thank you, without vexation or frivolity,.
