A 48-year-old man has been jailed for 16 months for committing multiple child sex offences.
Andrew Hammond admitted three counts of making indecent images, two counts of possessing indecent images, three counts of distributing indecent images and publishing an obscene article in the time between January 2012 and August 2016.
He pleaded guilty to the charges at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court.
The Paedophile Online Investigation Team, a special branch of the police, made the arrest on Hammond on Tuesday 30 August 2016 executing a search warrant at his home. Police seized his computer equipment and mobile telephone finding the horrific images and videos.
He was sentenced on Friday 4 August 2017 at Maidstone Crown Court.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Dawn Taylor said: ‘Hammond is clearly a danger to the public and has shown that he is willing to engage in appalling activity with a real desire to harm children.
‘Thankfully we have been able to bring justice for the victims of Hammond’s sordid crimes and he will now serve time in prison. We hope this provides reassurance that we work hard at Kent Police to protect the public and ensure the safety of anyone suffering at the hands of people like him.’
