The footballer was briefly moved into solitary confinement for his safety earlier this year
Yesterday it was claimed that the former Sunderland star wanted to move prisons after learning a jail gang were planning to slit his throat with a makeshift knife.
He was understood to have been drawing up a request to move prisons, but the report in The Sun on Sunday was labelled ‘untrue’ by Miss Johnson.
The footballer was briefly moved into solitary confinement for his safety earlier this year after he was recorded bragging about sleeping with a schoolgirl.
Stacey Flounders, his ex-girlfriend and mother of their child, has moved into her mother’s house in Hartlepool – but she is understood to still keep in contact.
She is now said to be seeing another convicted footballer, Gary Madine of Bolton, who was jailed for 18 months in 2013 after being found guilty of assault.
