A British tourist has been arrested after allegedly leaving his eight-year-old daughter alone in a hotel in Tenerife.
The youngster sought the help of staff at Hotel Aguamarina Golf on the south coast of the Spanish island in the early hours of the morning after her father, 52, reportedly returned from his binge session.
She came down to reception with two suitcases saying her father had just entered their hotel room under the influence of alcohol and was ‘causing damage’, according to local reports.
He is said to have been held by police after – allegedly – appearing on the scene naked with a gash to his head.

The hotel where the scene unfolded in the early hours of Thursday morning has been named as Hotel Aguamarina Golf, a three-minute walk from the beach near Tenerife South Airport.
It was not immediately clear where the girl’s mother was at the time.
She is thought to have been asked to collect her daughter from local social services carers who took temporary charge of the youngster.
A spokeswoman for the Civil Guard in Tenerife declined to name the man who had been arrested and said she had no specific information on where he was from.
A source confirmed the youngster’s mum had not yet been located.
No-one was available for comment today at the hotel where the arrest was made.
