A Rangers fan who confronted Celtic’s Scott Brown is a sex offender who exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl.

David McLellan ran on
to the Ibrox pitch during
 Saturday’s Old Firm match.

The Record can reveal the yob was convicted in 2010 of exposing himself as the little girl walked along the road with her mum, reports The Daily Record.

Father-of-two McLellan, 23, admitted indecency and was given 30 months’ probation.

The pervert, who was just 16 at the time of the offence, was also put on the sex offenders’ register and given a restricted liberty order.

This week, McLellan, from Irvine, was back in court for invading the pitch and squaring up to Hoops skipper Brown seven minutes into
 the Scottish Premiership match.

The thug slipped past stewards and ran up to Brown and Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths.

McLellan tussled with the Celtic captain before Rangers players Danny Wilson and James Tavernier ran over to calm the situation.

They pleaded with McLellan to leave the field as referee John Beaton tried to defuse the fracas.

McLellan kissed the badge on his Rangers top before police led him away.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, he pled guilty to engaging in behaviour likely to incite public disorder by running towards Brown in an aggressive manner.

Rangers said he would be banned from matches indefinitely.

It emerged in court that McLellan has a long history of offending and
has served jail time.

A source said: “He is one of these guys who just can’t help himself offending.

“Despite the fact he has two kids, he is still out causing trouble and getting involved in childish behaviour like pitch invasions.

“It’s pathetic. You would have thought that he would have grown
up a bit.

“There has been a lot of talk
about him since the incident at the Old Firm match.

“People couldn’t believe that it was him in trouble again because people can remember the flashing incident.”

McLellan confronted Brown after Scott Sinclair scored an early
penalty for Celtic in the match that ended with Rangers losing 1-5.

Ruth Ross-Davies, prosecuting,
said McLellan’s approach was
“aggressive and intimidating”.

McLellan told the court: “I am appalled at myself. I shouldn’t
have done it.”

The pervert’s lawyer described McLellan as a “prolific offender”, but said he had stayed out of trouble
 since becoming a father.

The yob was released from
custody for a previous offence in April
last year.

At his court appearance on Tuesday, McLellan was released on bail.

He is due back in court at the end of the month.

The flasher sent our reporter a long, rambling private Facebook message after we got in touch with him to explain his actions.

He wrote: “Yes that what I done at the old firm I am not proud of and when I got into the picture I realised that and left I have a child on the way and and 11 month old son and made a wrong move which is why I left like 2 seconds from entering the field and walked straight towards the stewards I was drunk and as I said when I
realised i made the mistake it held my hands straight up and the public
indecency from when I was 16 yes time and life moves on if you want to punish people for mistake they make in life by embarrassing not just myself but my family with running a repot that I am a sex offender when I am clearly not so you go ahead if you get a kick but hope your a cold hearted man.”
